Whenever I get the chance to be an Oahu engagement photographer for the day I buy a plane ticket and rush over. This is what happen for Alex and Tyler’s session. I flew over from Maui to spend a couple of days with my pal, Alex and her fiancé. We decided to do a 2 day affair with day one at a forest location in Nu’uanu, Oahu. This spot was a photographers dream because of the amazing soft light beaming through the canopy. It felt like a forest paradise fit for Fern Gully. The following morning we caught the sunrise on Oahu’s Kahala coast. Since we needed to catch the sun rising, we woke up around 4am to get ready. Although it was an early start it was sooooo worth it. The Kahala area of Oahu is east facing meaning the the sun will rise over the ocean and mountains. As it rose, beams of orange colored light filled the scene. With Alex’s pink dress adding a gorgeous pop of color to an otherwise orange and blue scene. I love photographing engagements on Oahu for it variety of scenery, all of which are stunning. From forest locations to the urban life of Waikiki, to the iconic scenes of the ocean, Oahu is a photographers paradise.
A few months later I got to photograph their Bayer Estate wedding in Kahala, Oahu. Be sure to check out their gorgeous feature! Alex & Tyler’s Bayer Estate Wedding
