A Day to Remember at Ho’omaluhia

Magical Engagement at Ho’omaluhia Garden. We met in the afternoon, as the light was soft and golden, and I could already tell that the day was going to be something special. The couple, both full of excitement and joy, was eager to explore the garden, and I was equally excited to document their love in such a magical setting.

Over the course of our two-hour session, we wandered through the garden, stopping at various scenic spots to create a mix of traditional portraits and spontaneous, candid moments. There’s something so authentic about capturing those fleeting, genuine expressions—the laughter, the stolen glances, and the quiet moments when it feels like time stands still.

From the tranquil lotus pond to the towering palm trees, the garden offered an incredible variety of natural beauty to incorporate into our photos. It was a great way for me to experiment with different angles and lighting, while the couple got comfortable being in front of the camera.

One of my favorite moments was when we found a little tucked-away path surrounded by vibrant green foliage. It was quiet, intimate, and the couple couldn’t help but laugh as they explored together. These are the moments that remind me why I love what I do—capturing genuine, raw emotions in a setting as breathtaking as Ho’omaluhia.
