Oahu’s Top LGBTQ Photographer

Megan Moura is a Hawaii photographer who is a proud ally of the LGBTQ community and has been since the start of her career in 2012. When I began my career in San Francisco in the mid 2000’s I made it a point to represent the queer community through my photographs. In my early career I was trusted by many gay and lesbian couples to photograph their weddings and engagements. This has always been a big source of pride for myself because I am fully aware that it isn’t always a given that vendors will work with same sex couples. Therefore, I position myself as valuable photographic resource for the LGBTQ community as they search for people who support and love them as equals. Photography plays a huge role in representation and I want to show the beauty and humanity in queer love. It is my small way of making a big difference. One day, no one will look at an image of a queer couple and think of anything else but love. No hateful thoughts or words will come to mind, instead we will feel the connection and love that these two humans share.
