It’s All In the Planning

This Kauai engagement session for Miranda and Drew started when they hired me for their Oahu wedding. Miranda and Drew hired me to photograph their destination wedding on the island of Oahu and they chose one of my top wedding packages that included a free engagement session. As fortune would have it, I planned a family vacation on the island of Kauai while Miranda and drew were planning on enjoying their own vacation on Kauai. So we both jumped at this opportunity to do their engagement session on Kauai instead of Oahu. They were staying on the South Shore of Kauai in the town of Poipu and asked me for a location nearby.

Location: Poipu, Kaua’i

Poipu is one of my most loved areas of Kauai with a spectacular beach right outside the Grand Hyatt. The Beach is known for its surf and beautiful coastline. I grew up coming to this beach to watch the surfers and to go on a little hike along the coast. Kaua’i is known as the rainiest Island in Hawaii, especially during our winter months which are November thru February. However Poipu is famous for its regular sunshine and minimal rain showers. There was no question that this location was the best option. We met an hour before sunset to do their engagement session. Miranda was dressed in a beautiful sexy dress while Drew was Dapper in his pants and shirt.

They also their little puppy with them on vacation a few photos with him in the beginning. If there’s one thing that you know about me as a photographer I love shooting pets so if you are a couple with a puppy or a cat let’s include them for some fun pics.

Their Kaua’i engagement session was the perfect opportunity to meet them in person and get to know their personality this helps me understand who they are and what to expect on their wedding day. It also helps them become comfortable in front of my camera. Destination engagement sessions are always beautiful and well worth the investment.
