Papa’iloa Beach North Shore Oahu

In my previous post I showed you Lakota’s beautiful studio portraits. In this post I’d like to show you the second part of her maternity session. After we spent one hour in my studio we drove to the North Shore of Oahu for her beach maternity portraits. Lakota’s beach maternity photos took place at my favorite Oahu beach location called Papa’iloa. It’s a 1 hour drive from Honolulu and well worth the time because this scenery is spectacular. This beach is easy to find and a short 5 minute walk to the sand. It’s a large white sand beach with unique rock and reef formations. Moreover, as you look further past the sea, you’ll see that the sun sets behind a gorgeous mountain range. All of these elements worked together to help us achieve beautiful portraits for Lakota’s baby bump session.

Best of Both Worlds

As I’ve mentioned, I have a portrait studio and I didn’t want Lakota to have to choose one or the other. So, we opted to do both studio and beach portraits. When you work with me, you don’t have to limit your creativity, you can do more than one location. This outdoor portion of her session allowed us to get creative with natures elements like the sun, wind and water. Additionally, it allowed us to move more freely along the coastline and in the water. With her studio portraits and beach ones, Lakota has a wide variety of images that she can look back on fondly.

Why Maternity Sessions Are Important

I think maternity sessions are so important and here are my top reasons. Firstly, pregnancy is beautiful and it should be celebrated, each and every time. Secondly, why wouldn’t you want gorgeous photos of yourself and your little one? Finally, you’ll never regret getting professional portraits of your growing family.
