Hannah and Michael had a specific vision for their photoshoot. They wanted to capture the beauty of the sunrise and make the most of the golden hour light. As a photographer, I love capturing the raw and organic moments that truly showcase a couple’s deep connection.

Sunrise Anniversary on the East Coast of Oahu

We decided to start the shoot at a small, cozy beach on the east coast of Oahu. It was located about 30 minutes away from Waikiki. It was a secluded beach that had white sand, a beautiful reef, and views of small islands on the horizon. Most importantly, it had direct sunrise views, which was exactly what the couple was looking for.

We want to get as much golden light as possible so when we arrived at the beach, we immediately began to set up and get ready. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the couple was excited to start.

As the sun rose, we began to capture some beautiful shots of Hannah and Michael. We started by taking some photos on the beach, with Hannah and Michael walking along the shoreline. Then, we got into the water for close-up sunrise shots and it was truly magical. The couple looked absolutely stunning as the sun illuminated their faces. The light was soft and warm; it created a beautiful, natural glow in their photos.

Second Location: Hidden Gem in the Town of Nuuanu

After spending an hour at the beach, we headed to our second location, a hidden gem in the town of Nuuanu. It was a public park surrounded by lush green plants and trees; Creating a peaceful atmosphere that made it feel like we were in the middle of a forest. It’s located 10 minutes away from Ala Moana, but it provided a completely different scenery from the beach location.

As we walked through the park, we took amazing photos; from close-up shots of the couple embracing to wide-angle shots. The greenery and diffused natural light created a sense of intimacy and privacy, which made the couple feel more comfortable and relaxed during the sunrise photoshoot. It was a great opportunity for them to connect and celebrate their love in a naturally romantic setting.

The park was a great choice to go to the lush forests in Oahu for a change of scenery. It offers a completely different environment for the shoot; Its natural beauty, lush greenery, and sense of serenity add depth and meaning to the photos which would not be possible elsewhere. It is perfect for capturing intimate moments during sunrise like Hannah and Michael’s Anniversary photo shoot session.

Throughout the shoot, I wanted to ensure that Hannah and Michael felt comfortable and relaxed. I gave them gentle guidance on how to pose and interact with each other. I made sure to capture the natural, organic, and raw images that the couple had asked for.

As a photographer, my goal is to capture the beauty of my subjects, and their surroundings. With Hannah and Michael, I was able to do that. They had a deep connection that was evident in every photo, and they seemed to be in tune with nature.
